Azar Oil Field Development Plan Inaugurates By Rohani

Tehran (PEDEC)- Azar Oil Joint Field Development Project, has officially come online by order of Iranian President Hassan Rouhani via video conference on Monday 1st March.
Keyvan Yarahmadi executive director of this project at Petroleum Engineering and Development Company (PEDEC) said : today Azar Oil Field Development Project which is the most complex oil field in the country, has reached the production capacity of 65,000 b/d while prior to this, production capacity of this field was 30,000 b/d.
Yarahmadi continued: the amount of oil in-place in the Azar oil field is estimated at roughly 4.3 billion barrels, and said the extractable reserves of this field, which is a light oil with an API grade of about 32 to 33, is estimated at more than 400 million barrels in a 40-year exploitation period.
Providing national interests, creating employment opportunities for local forces and economic prosperity and infrastructure development in Ilam are among the prominent goals of implementation of the plan, Yarahmadi added..
Azar oil field is located in Anaran exploration block in Ilam Province (southwest of Iran and 25 km from Mehran) on the border of Iran and Iraq.
Providing national interests, creating employment opportunities for local forces and economic prosperity and infrastructure development in Ilam are among the prominent goals of implementation of the plan.
